Terms of Service
These terms govern every rental from SlickExotics. By completing a booking you agree to them in full. Please read them — they cover what happens before, during, and after your rental.

01Agreement overview
This is a legally binding rental agreement between you (“Renter”) and SlickExotics (“Company,” “we,” “us”). It applies to every vehicle rental we facilitate, whether booked online, by phone, or in person. Additional terms specific to a particular vehicle or rental package may be provided at the time of booking and are incorporated by reference.
02Eligibility
To rent with us you must, at the time of rental:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Hold a valid driver’s license issued by your country or US state of residence, with no class restrictions that would prohibit the rented vehicle.
- Present a valid government-issued photo ID for identity verification.
- Carry personal auto insurance or qualify under our supplemental coverage options (see Insurance section).
- Have no major violations (DUI, reckless driving, license suspension) in the past 5 years.
- Not be under the influence of alcohol, controlled substances, or any medication that impairs driving.
We verify eligibility before confirming every booking. We reserve the right to decline or cancel a rental if eligibility requirements are not met, and to refund the deposit minus any processing fees already incurred.
03Booking & deposits
A reservation is confirmed only after we receive a completed booking request and the required deposit, and we issue a written confirmation to you.
- Deposit
- A non-refundable booking deposit (amount shown at checkout) is charged at the time of reservation to hold the vehicle. This deposit is applied to the total rental fee.
- Balance due
- The remaining balance is due no later than 72 hours before the rental start time, unless otherwise specified in your confirmation.
- Late balance
- Failure to pay the balance by the due date may result in automatic cancellation of the reservation and forfeiture of the deposit.
- Payment methods
- We accept major credit cards. Debit cards are not accepted for the security hold. Payment is processed by Stripe.
04Security hold
A security hold will be placed on your credit card at the time of vehicle pickup. The hold amount varies by vehicle and will be disclosed at booking.
- The hold is not a charge — it temporarily reduces your available credit.
- The hold is released within 3–7 business days after the vehicle is returned undamaged, at our bank’s discretion.
- If the vehicle is returned with damage, traffic violations, fuel deficiency, or excess mileage, we reserve the right to capture all or part of the hold to cover assessed costs.
- A hold that cannot be placed at pickup (card declined, insufficient credit) will result in the rental being declined and the deposit forfeited.
05Cancellations & changes
- 72+ hours before pickup
- Cancel for a full refund of the rental balance (deposit is non-refundable).
- 24–72 hours before pickup
- 50% of the total rental fee is forfeited.
- Less than 24 hours / no-show
- The full rental fee is forfeited.
- Date changes
- Subject to availability. Changes requested more than 72 hours out are free once per booking; changes within 72 hours are treated as a cancellation and re-book.
- Force majeure
- In cases of natural disaster, government order, or documented medical emergency, we will work with you on a credit or reschedule at our discretion.
All cancellations must be submitted in writing through our contact form. Cancellation time is measured from when we receive your written notice.
06Mileage
Each rental includes a daily mileage allowance disclosed at booking. Mileage is tracked via odometer reading at pickup and return.
- Excess mileage fees apply for every mile driven over the allowance. The per-mile rate is shown in your rental confirmation.
- Odometer tampering or disconnection is a breach of this agreement and may result in criminal liability.
- Off-road, track, or autocross use is strictly prohibited unless explicitly permitted in writing in your rental confirmation.
07Damage & liability
You are responsible for the vehicle from the moment you take possession to the moment it is returned and inspected by our staff.
- You are liable for all damage to the vehicle regardless of fault, including damage caused by third parties, unless covered by a valid insurance policy.
- Damage costs are assessed at our discretion based on repair estimates, diminished value, and loss of rental income during repair.
- You must report any accident, theft, or vandalism to us and to local law enforcement immediately. Failure to report is a material breach of this agreement.
- Cosmetic damage (wheels, trim, interior) is assessed at market repair rates.
- Total loss is assessed at the vehicle’s current market value.
08Insurance & COI requirements
All renters must maintain adequate auto insurance coverage for the rented vehicle. We do not provide primary insurance.
- Personal auto policy
- Your personal auto insurance may extend to rented vehicles. Confirm with your carrier before pickup. Minimum required: comprehensive and collision coverage at the vehicle’s stated value.
- Certificate of Insurance (COI)
- For certain vehicles or rental packages, we require a COI naming us as additional insured, uploaded before the rental is confirmed. This will be specified in your booking confirmation.
- Supplemental options
- We offer supplemental damage coverage for an additional daily fee. Details and exclusions are provided at booking.
- Coverage gap
- If coverage lapses or is denied, you remain personally liable for all damage, loss, and associated costs.
09Prohibited use
The following uses of any rented vehicle are strictly prohibited and constitute an immediate material breach of this agreement:
- Operating the vehicle on any racetrack, closed course, autocross, or similar competitive event without prior written consent.
- Off-road or unpaved-surface driving.
- Transporting the vehicle outside the agreed rental area without prior written consent.
- Use for commercial purposes, ride-share, delivery, or hire.
- Allowing any person not listed on the rental agreement to operate the vehicle.
- Towing, pushing, or otherwise using the vehicle to propel another vehicle.
- Operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or impairing medication.
- Using the vehicle to commit any crime or traffic violation.
- Driving in a manner that constitutes reckless driving or street racing.
Violation of any prohibited use clause voids all coverage, results in immediate termination of the rental, and makes you liable for the full cost of any damage, recovery, and legal fees we incur.
10Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to this agreement shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California.
If any provision of this agreement is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right.
